20 jobs at risk if homes close in cost-cutting plan
09 February 2011A PWLLHELI residential home, which employs 20 members of staff, is under threat.
Gwynedd Council is consulting with stakeholders over the future of Tan-y-Marian residential home in Pwllheli.
Pant yr Eithin residential home in Harlech is also under review. It is possible that a decision will be taken to establish a residential unit for a total of eight residents at Tan-y-Marian and to close Pant yr Eithin, but it is also possible that both homes could close.
Tan-y-Marian currently has five residents and 20 part time and full time staff. Six adults receive care at the Harlech home and residents, families and its 15 staff members would be affected by the closure.
The closure threats are a result of the council trying to save money.
Residents, their families and other stakeholders will now have until 9 March to present their comments to Gwynedd Council. There will be four possible options - to close either Pant yr Eithin, Harlech or close Tan-y-Marian, Pwllheli; to close both homes; or keep both homes open.
My personal view of the world via the articles i read and post, because I believe in that path, mixed with the views of others who sometimes clash with my point of view... very badly at times! Spot which ones they are. DYK that if you had projectbrainsaver type kit you would already know that, and so much more!
