Wakestock Mix Series - Plastic Thumbs

WAKESTOCK MIX SERIES PRESENTS PLASTIC THUMBS

The Wakestock Mix Series brings exposure to up and coming acts in UK dance music and each mix will touch on a new genre and sound. This month’s guest mix comes from Plastic Thumbs

Big hitting wobbly basslines business is the Plastic Thumbs game, and Volume 2 is no exception. You might have seen these cats at last years festival warming up for Zane Lowe, and smashing up the Relentless stage. This year they'll be back with more madness.

Plastic Thumbs is a collaboration from two chaps living in very different corners of the Britain. One residing in the pebble dashed charm of North Wales, the other hailing from the anonymous streets of South London. But the bastard child of Jonty Storey and Seb Cavill seems to hold up nicely.

Plastic Thumbs pull all their influences from reggae, funk and the golden era of hip-hop. The duo have spent the last few years playing festivals and clubs separately, alongside acts such as Scratch Perverts, DJ Nu-Mark, The Nextmen, Mr. Scruff and many more, but have now pulled together with the same focus, colliding the buzz and crackling energy of dancehall with rhyme splattered beats and gut-wrenching low-end bass lines. After taking over the 'Blogasphere" in 2010 with a series of hard hitting, fast paced mixtapes, they're back doing what they do best with a blend of Wakestock acts past, hopefully future and present.

Head over to their new Facebook fan page and show them some support. Keep checking out our BLOG for all the latest news, videos and music.
