David Ferrucci, lead researcher on the WATSON project, pulls back the curtain on the giant mainframe’s thought processes, and shows us how they’re not that different from our own methods of problem-solving. Like us, WATSON analyzes the question, and then weighs the potential answers against each other. This allows it to make a selection based on confidence, all within the blink of an eye.
