As Wickford residents we have known the Dale Farm community for 7 years, many participate in the local Catholic parish as Eucharistic ministers, contributors to parish projects in Uganda, Sth. Africa, humanitarian disaster relief appeals, London charities for the homeless/destitute and church social events. So they are members of a wider community which has become aware of the discrimination faced by Travellers and Gypsies. It is inhumane and financially reckless to spend massive amounts of public money traumatising the affected Traveller families, breaking up a functioning community which cares for its vulnerable elderly and children in a mutually cooperative way, while the option of alternative authorised sites is still under active consideration with one planning application already having been submitted to Basildon Borough Council.
My personal view of the world via the articles i read and post, because I believe in that path, mixed with the views of others who sometimes clash with my point of view... very badly at times! Spot which ones they are. DYK that if you had projectbrainsaver type kit you would already know that, and so much more!
